A little boy had six tiny puppies for sale. He was asking only two dollars for each one, but he wasn’t having any success in selling them. In fact, only one man had even stopped to look at them despite the large sign the boy had made. Several days later the same man passed by and saw that the price of the puppies had been raised to ten dollars each. He stopped to ask about the increase in price. The boy held up one of the cuddly puppies. “They’ve got their eyes open now,” he said. “They’re new and improved.”
When we “open our eyes” to Jesus and make him our Lord and Savior, we become new and improved too. As we begin to see ourselves as children of God, our self-worth increases!
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
