Grayce L. Weibley of Media, Pennsylvania writes: “We are never alone.  Sometimes when night closes around me and I begin to feel the first wisps of loneliness, I like to read the 23rd Psalm—not just for its lovely, soothing quality, but because it makes me recall the reassuring experience of a young American sailor during World War II.  He was a wireless operator on a ship far out at sea.  One night, feeling lonely in his silent radio shack, he read the 23rd Psalm and was helped by it.  Suddenly it occurred to him that there might be other lonely, discouraged operators; so he decided to send the psalm out over the ocean waves.  When he had finished tapping out the last word, 16 operators answered him with a wireless ‘Amen.’”

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want” (Psalm 23:1).
