The journalist John Gile, in one of his books, writes: “My 4-year-old daughter has a magic body. I told her so and it’s true. Recently she fell off a swing and cut her hand. No big deal. We just gave her hand a good washing, applied a band-aid, and gave her a hug. In a day or so the cut was gone, vanished without a trace.

“Some cynics will say, ‘That’s not magic. There’s a Latin name for it and a boring description of the process.’

“But what if Detroit built a car that repaired its own dented fenders and scratched paint? The whole world would get excited. It would be front-page news.

“Our trouble is that we’re too dull to recognize God’s signs and wonders, His loving and healing touch, His miraculous interventions.”

“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor” (Psalm 8:3-5).
