When Robert Morrison, the pioneer missionary, was about to sail to China in 1867, a merchant, looking at him with an amused smile asked, “And so, Mr. Morrison, you really expect that you will make an impression on the idolatry of the great Chinese Empire?”  Morrison replied with dignified sternness, “No sir, but I expect that God will.”

The young missionary’s assurance was ratified by God’s great work in China.

“For with God nothing will be impossible.” (Luke 1:37)
