A father was trying to teach his six-year-old son how to shoot a basket on their backyard basketball court. The boy thrust the basketball toward the basket as hard as he could but it always fell short. The father kept demonstrating how to do it. Each time he tossed the ball toward the basket he said, “Just do it like this, son. It’s easy.”

After several minutes and many misses, the boy became frustrated. He said to his father, “It may be easy for you to do it up there, but you don’t know how hard it is from down here.”

We can never make a remark like that to God. He really does understand. God became one of us through the incarnation of his son Jesus. He understands all about life down here!
