A LOVE THAT EMBRACES ALL
In a Chicago fire in 1984, firefighters discovered the bodies of a mother and five children huddled in an apartment kitchen. The firefighters were intrigued. It was clear that the mother could have escaped with two or three of the children. But she couldn’t decide whom to take and whom to leave. She chose to wait with all of them for the firefighters to arrive. All of them died of smoke inhalation.
That mother’s love had God’s fingerprints all over it. There have always been some people who loved and served God. God could have taken those and spilt, letting the others go literally to hell.
But God’s great heart wouldn’t allow it. So, He was born into a manger, died on a cruel cross, and arose on Easter morning. All that because His great love will not allow Him to write us off
