A GLIMPSE OF THE SOUL

It is likely that we will meet at least one person for the first time today.  Our first impressions usually include factors like race, age, physical attractiveness, clothing, accent, and size.

None of these factors reveals a person’s character or ability.  But we may never see that personal essence because we have already judged the book by the cover.

A man named Ira Whitley wrote this little poem: “I must confess I did not care for my new neighbor, stern and grim, until his burden did I share and said a prayer for him, then how he quickly changed, oh my – or was it I?”

Here is a helpful resolution for the day: I will never evaluate another persona based on outward appearances.  I will wait until I’m close enough to catch a glimpse of his souls.
