DEAD, BUT REALLY ALIVE

The Vietnam Memorial in Washington, DC is striking in its simplicity.  Etched in a black granite wall are the names of 58,156 Americans who died in that war.  Since its opening in 1982, the stark monument has stirred deep emotions.  But for three Vietnam veterans—Robert Bedker, Willard Craig, and Darrall Lausch—a visit to the memorial must be especially poignant.  Their names are carved in that stone.  Because of data-coding errors, these three men were incorrectly listed as killed in action.

Dead, but really alive.  That is the perfect description of the Christian.  Our old selves died with Christ on the cross, and we have been raised as new creatures in him.
