REAL SELF CONFIDENCE
Recently in a courtroom a new judge was being officially installed. The presiding officer welcomed everybody and then said, “I realize that there are many dignitaries present. I am afraid that if I try to recognize all of you, I might miss someone. Therefore, let me put it this way: if you consider yourself a dignitary, consider yourself as having been welcomed.”
Parading our dignity in front of others is not attractive. Those who base their self-confidence on the approval of others are hollow people. Real self-confidence is based on who you and God know you are. If you know you are a child of the King of kings, then you are a dignitary, anywhere, anytime, even if you are the only one who knows it.
