I heard a man declare that much of his happiness can be traced to his earliest years when his mother would ask him one question each night before she shared his bedtime prayers. Her question was this: “What did you see today that was beautiful?”
What a wonderful question to ponder before falling asleep! One day the answer might be a mallard duck in flight or a falling snowflake; on another day it might be the smile of a sweetheart or a mother’s hug.
Happy, fulfilled persons tend to notice the commonplace miracles-the mundane masterpieces all around us.
Today is a time to be grateful…and a time to remember not to take anything for granted: not a single gift, or any person, or even one moment in time.
