Have you ever heard someone say, “He made me angry”? Actually, no other person can make you angry unless you give permission. Certain persons and situations are aggravating and stressful, but in the final analysis we choose our own reactions.
Stephen R. Covey, author of First Things First, found this powerful statement in a university library: “Between stimulus and response lies our growth and freedom.”
Many people have found that a relationship with Jesus Christ brings with it a freedom form automatic, destructive responses. It is possible to react in deliberate, constructive, caring ways.
