A church member made an appointment with his pastor to talk about a problem. “Pastor,” he said, “jobs were hard to come by a number of years ago. So I asked God’s help in finding me a good job. I promised that if I found one, I would tithe my income. I found a job paying $500 per week and I began to give the church $50 each week. My promotions have been rapid and my salary has increased. I now make $2,000 per week. But $200 per week is just too much to give to the church. Do you have any advice for me?” “Yes I do,” said the pastor. “Let us kneel down and pray that God will reduce your income to the point that you will be able to tithe once more.”

In Malachi 3:10 we read, “’Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.”
