Leo Durocher, the famous baseball manager, called Dusty Rhodes his favorite player. When asked why he designated a little known pinch hitter rather than a big name star as his favorite, Durocher replied that every time the game was on the line and he looked down the bench for a pinch hitter, Dusty was always ready, willing, and eager. When other players looked away because they were afraid of the pressure, Dusty looked Leo in the eye, tapped his bat, pointed to his chest and smiled.
