USE, LOVE AND WORSHIP
Clip C. Jones, a prominent business leader from the Midwest, started out in the insurance business. He wrote a homeowner’s policy for an older woman whose hobby was collecting antiques. One New Year’s Eve her home was gutted by fire. All of her beautiful furniture and prized antiques were lost. The next day she said to Cliff Jones, “If I could give one word of advice to a younger person, it would be to never allow yourself to love any inanimate object.”
Things are to be used. People are to be loved. And God alone is to be worshipped.
To use a person is almost as tragic as worshipping him or her. Some people attempt to use G0d to help them acquire more things to worship.
Remember the right formula: Things are to be used. People are to be loved. And God alone is to be worshipped.
