As if wives don’t already know it, a West German insurance study concludes that husbands who kiss their wives each morning live an average of five years longer. Other purported benefits for morning kissers include higher pay and fewer auto accidents.

It is almost impossible to have too much healthy touching and affection within a family. We know newborn infants will actually die unless they are touched regularly, even if all their other needs are met.

Those huge athletes in the National Football League hold each other’s hands in the huddle before each play. They know toughing conveys a sense of unity.

For some people, especially those who live alone, the only hug they may receive all week is at church. Especially in this society, everybody needs a safe place to hug and be hugged.
